Shared meals frame the day
A fixed mealtime brings everyone to one table. That is where we hear how the others are doing.
At Alsenhof and at MOOM we have welcomed more than 200 guests. This is where we have lived and what we have learned along the way.
Manuel founds his first coliving space in Hamburg.
Manuel founds Alsenhof. It has eleven rooms, and guests stay from one week to one month. From 2022, Etti is a host there.
We set up MOOM in Borsfleth, a village of about 800 people, 60 km from Hamburg. The 200 m² house has five rooms, three of them for guests. Plus a sea wall, sheep and plenty of country life.
We move to Rendsburg, between the Kiel Canal and the river Eider. On 150 m² we live with one guest room, hens and two cats. Guests stay from one week to several months.
In October 2026 we move to Kiel-Hassee and stop offering guest rooms. Changing guests become a settled community, and new flatmates move in for the long term.
Years of hosting guests shaped our operating system for living together. We are bringing these structures with us to Kiel.

In the weekly community meeting, tension comes up early, before it grows.
In the listening circle the group listens without commenting or asking questions. It can be soothing and moving.
On Me-Sunday there is no programme and no shared meal. People who had time for themselves are glad to rejoin the group.
“Etti and Manu create a space of acceptance and love.”
“What was special for me in MOOM Space was that feelings, moods and conflicts are given a space.”
“It was a great time and I learned a lot, you feel welcome every morning.”
“The people at MOOM are just beautiful, so much meaningful connection!”
